Natalie MacGowan-Spencer was born in West London in the 1960’s to a father that was a prolific artist from Jamaica and a mother who was a partner in a vintage clothing store on the Kings Road in Chelsea during the 1970’s. Needless to say, she grew up in an environment that she likes to call a kaleidoscope of color, full of love for music, art, all rich in textures and interesting people.  Early on, Natalie’s parents encouraged her to have her own opinions and gave her the freedom to express herself in whatever way she felt necessary.  It was during this time that Natalie felt drawn to the field of make up and beauty so, at the age of 19 she enrolled in the Brighton College.  After an intense two years of studying, Natalie graduated from Brighton and immediately opened her own Beauty Therapy business in West London.  Natalie enjoyed modest success with her Beauty Spa but after a few years she soon felt that a move was needed if she truly was going to take her skills to a whole new level.

The idea of moving to America thrilled Natalie so she packed up and relocated to Los Angeles where she soon got her first break. She was approached to work with a Director on his friend’s latest music video. The Director turned out to be Spike Jonze and the video they shot was for the Beastie Boy’s hit single “Sabotage.”  The attention that the video received helped Natalie book other great videos and to date she has collaborated with such directors as Jonas Akerland, Michael Gondry, Michael Bay, Matthew Rolston, David La Chapelle, Hype Williams, McG, Marcus Nispel, Dave Meyers, Francis Lawrence, Stephane Sednoui, Paul Hunter, Jhoan Camitz, Sam Bayer, Michael Hausman, Chris Robinson and Guy Ritchie. Also photographers such as Helmut Newton, Sophia Coppola, Peter Grekek, Patrick Demarchalier and Rankin. Some of the musicians she has worked on include, Bjork, Blondie, Alanis Morrisette, Lauren Hill, Erykah Badu, Kid Rock, BB King, Marilyn Manson, LL Cool j, Gwen Stephanie, 2pac, REM and Jay Z, as well as actors that include Kate Winslett, Samuel Jackson, Keanu Reeves, Mark Wahlberg and Dennis Hopper. Natalie has been nominated for and won two MVPA Awards in 1999 for Best Hair & Makeup in a Music Video for Sugar Ray’s “Every Morning”, directed by McGand in 1998 for Best Makeup in a Music Video for Marilyn Manson’s “Man That You Fear” directed by Wiz.

Natalie is working with a clientele that spans the commercial field, music videos, Red Carpet Events, T.V. and Feature Films.
